This is the “tome” or “Bible” of early childhood education. 542 pages. Every aspect of this subject is covered in a complete, well-defined manner. Not just the useful methodology chapters, but also chapters on “Important People and Movements: Past and Present”, Environments, Diversity in Early Childhood Programs, Play as Curriculum, Language and Literacy, Science and Math, Guiding Behavior. I can’t list all of the chapters, but everything about early childhood care and education is here, in a comprehensive and readable format.
